Real Wedding | Lauren & Jordan

In the excitement of getting engaged and our initial conversations about getting married, Jordan and I created a mood board capturing all the elements, tones, textures and feels that we wanted the day to encapsulate. Rather than look at other weddings — because we weren't particularly 'bridal' - we turned to architecture, interiors and art inspiration. It soon became clear that we shared a love of Southern Italian textures and tones paired with a minimalist Japanese aesthetic. Our wedding was going to be relaxed, elevated with a penchant for 'less is more'.

When we found Tides Estate, Byron Bay, we knew it was perfect. With an infinity pool overlooking the Macadamia grove, a fig tree that we both loved and a house we could all stay in together, we knew we'd found the one. With an incredible team of suppliers working with us to bring our vision to life, we had the wedding we had dreamed of (With torrential rain, but that actually turned out to be perfect for our day). And remarkably, we pulled this off without ever having set foot on the property prior to our big day.

And what I hear you ask does a stationery designer do for her stationery? Well that was a real pickle. We had a million ideas but in the end I approached our stationery as if we were a client. Jordan is a natural, born storyteller and adores the work of Orson Wells, James Baldwin, Margaret Weiss & Tracy Hickman. I'm a modern romantic with a love of the balance between chaos & organic lines versus minimalism & clean lines. And from there, I built the concept off 'Our Love Story' in Puglia inspired tones and textures.

Suppliers:

Venue | Tides Estate, Byron Bay

Wedding Planner & Co-ordination | Elope Weddings
Emily was amazing! I don't know how Bride's do this without a planner and Emily was incredible.

Photographer | Brendan Back Photography
We loved Brendan!! We chose him as we loved the artistic & editorial blur he often incorporates into his work and how it fit back with our overall vision for the day. But Brendan's an absolute legend to work with too and had us laughing a lot!

Florist | FLWR Studio
I can't praise Em enough for the incredible interpretation of our brief! She understood that we wanted less and more sculptural arrangements and completely blew our expectations out of the park.

Celebrant | Pip of In Light Ceremonies
We love Pip so much we knew we had to bring her to Byron with us. And we were not disappointed; she's such a beautiful soul and made everything so easy.

Stationery & Signage | The Blackline Bottega

Caterers | Figtree Restaurant
We weren't able to get up to Byron for a food tasting but I knew from clients and their experiences with Figtree that we were in the best possible hands to blindly pick our food. The food was amazing! And prepared right in front of us as dinner time entertainment.

Dress | Galvan London & Aje

Shoes | Staud
I also had a back up pair of shoes in case it rained from Naked Vice - and thank goodness I had those!

Jewellery | RUUSK Rings & Agmes NYC Earrings
It's no secret I love RUUSK and Tania has created two rings that I'm going to love for life. The Agmes Earrings were a guilty, last minute indulgence. I saw them in the first weeks of planning our wedding and popped them on the mood board and could not stop thinking about them up until the day, 2 weeks out from the wedding, when I purchased them.

Hair & Make Up | Alex Ouston Beauty

Prep Beauty | Elle Barakat Brows & Lashes and Skintifix
