When Hannah & Aaron approached me about creating stationery for their day at Mona Farm, I knew the vision was going to be very special. Hannah, a Director for Retail Planning at Zimmermann, had such a clear references of how she imagined the day; pulling from both Modern Surrealism and Art Nouveau references. Coupled with the incredible visionary talent of Heidi from The Romance, we started to flesh the visual references out with nods to Jil Sander and Jacquemus.
Aaron's brother, a graphic designer, created a stunning monogram crest for their day leaning heavily on Art Nouveau techniques and symbols. We incorporated this into their wedding invitations; embossing it on a dark green cardstock and marrying it back with bold orange lettering for the underside and sheathed in a vellum envelope to play with distortion. We continued this throughout the on-the-day stationery using silver mirror cardstock, embossed traditional borders mixed back with bold orange cardstock and sans serif fonts.
The day masterfully held clues of the brief - captured spectacularly by Petter Karlstrøm - from the art & sculptures at Mona Farm to the way Heidi masterfully balanced both art references in the styling.
This wedding requires no further storytelling; Hannah & Aaron's day was a visual feast for the eyes and a triumph of clear briefing alongside a talented pool of suppliers.
